Gregory Mark Nespole is a Partner at Levi & Korsinsky, LLP, resident in the firm’s New York office, where he concentrates his practice on stockholder derivative actions, complex securities class actions, and transactional litigation on behalf of institutional investors, including public and labor pension funds, labor health and welfare benefit funds, and private institutions. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Nespole advises select family offices and venture capital funds concerning their investments, regulatory compliance, and related governance matters. Before joining Levi & Korsinsky, LLP in May 2019, Mr. Nespole spent more than two decades at Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP — one of the oldest law firms in New York — where he served on the firm’s management committee, chaired its investor protection practice, and held the position of Managing Partner.
CAREER
Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Nespole worked in finance as a strategist on an arbitrage desk and as an associate at a major international investment bank, where he structured private placements and conducted transactional due diligence. That capital-markets grounding — unusual among plaintiffs’ securities litigators — informs his approach to valuation, damages, and the market mechanics underlying securities fraud claims.
Mr. Nespole began his legal career in 1993 practicing criminal defense at various firms and served as an associate at Milberg Weiss from 1997 to 1998. In 1998, he joined Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP, where he practiced for approximately twenty years, rising to the firm’s management committee and chairing its investor protection practice. In May 2019, he proudly joined Levi & Korsinsky, LLP as a Partner. Announcing the hire, Managing Partner Eduard Korsinsky cited Mr. Nespole’s outstanding reputation with the judiciary and among his peers in the securities bar.
ADVISORY PRACTICE
Complementing his litigation practice, Mr. Nespole advises select family offices and venture capital funds on their investments, compliance obligations, and related matters. Drawing on his pre-law experience in arbitrage and investment banking and his decades of experience litigating investment-related disputes, he counsels these clients on transaction structuring and diligence, portfolio and counterparty risk, regulatory compliance, and governance.
