Levi & Korsinsky, LLP is investigating claims against baby food manufacturer Hain Celestial Group, Inc. relating to the presence of heavy metals in its baby food products.
In 2021, the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy Committee on Oversight and Reform published a report revealing that baby food produced by seven of the largest manufacturers of baby food in the United States contained high levels of heavy metals including inorganic arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury. The Food and Drug Administration and the World Health Organization have declared these heavy metals dangerous to human health, particularly to babies and children, who are most vulnerable to their neurotoxic effects.
According to the report, several companies, including Hain, have been selling baby foods tainted with inorganic arsenic, lead, cadmium, and/or mercury. Hain did not identify or disclose metals as ingredients on its product labels nor does it warn of the potential presence of heavy metals in its products.
