Hackers breached Nelnet Servicing systems, exposing the data of more than 2.5 million people with student loans. Nelnet provides the technological services for OSLA and EdFinancial, including the web portal used to access those services.

The breach occurred in June, when unknown intruders gained unauthorized access to Nelnet systems and had continued access until July 22.

The information exposed impacted individuals includes:

– Physical addresses
– Email addresses
– Phone numbers
