Intel Corporation Investigation Details

Intel Corp. shares fell after the Company reported Q3 2026 financial results and issued Q4 revenue guidance of approximately $15-$16 billion, missing Wall Street consensus estimates. In its Q3 2026 earnings report, the Company revealed that Client Computing revenue was down 5% year over year and outlined a weaker Q4 outlook. Management attributed the lower guidance primarily to continued PC-market softness expected to persist into at least the first half of 2027, adding that supply constraints and manufacturing bottlenecks compounded the demand problem. Previously, in a free writing prospectus filed on August 10, 2026, the Company stated that customers "continue to signal a strong and sustainable demand environment, driven by unprecedented investment in AI compute." Earlier, during the Q2 2026 earnings call, CFO David Zinsner stated that management expected PC consumption to be "down low double digits percent for all of 2026," while CEO Lip-Bu Tan noted that the industry was facing "one of the most severe supply constraints in its history." The investigation concerns whether Intel Corp. adequately disclosed risks related to PC-market demand softness and manufacturing bottlenecks ahead of its Q3 2026 earnings release.
