On May 21, 2024, before market open, Baird lowered its price target for Reddit to $120 from $140, citing concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities being utilized by tech powerhouses like Alphabet. Baird analyst concluded that this threatens Reddit’s user growth and site traffic because the platform is mainly used to obtain answers to user questions, something Google’s new AI tool now provides with less clicks.

Following this news, Reddit’s stock price fell over 9% to close at $95.85 per share on May 21, 2025
